STORY OF CHRISTMAS TREE
The cult of the tree, symbol of life, is found in all religions, in all countries, from the remotest antiquity. Scandinavia ash, oak among the Gauls, fir in Alsace, it carries different names: tree of the world, life tree, tree lights, tree of Christ, a Christmas tree.
Christmas was celebrated for the first time on December 25 in Rome, in AD 354. This is the transcript of the Christian Roman Saturnalia Winter Solstice. In the Middle Ages each Region celebrates Christmas according to their own customs and in numerous games of the Nativity tableaux, mysteries on the courts of the churches, processions.
